Get the look: explore the bathroom design secrets of Alana Stewart, our Managing Director

Ever wondered how a bathroom specialist actually employs their own knowledge? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Founder at Bathware Direct, Alana Stewart, has invited us on a virtual tour of her home. Starting with the room we’re all most interested in: her master bathroom.

Absolutely in love with the look? As are we! So much so, we thought we’d break down each and every element. From monochrome selections to the strategic placement of her towel holder, here’s everything you need to know to recreate this luxury design.

Matte Black Tapware

It’s one of the first things that captures our eye on entering Alana’s bathroom. Matte Black selections are striking, durable and easy to maintain. They’re far more resistant to watermarks or stains, ensuring that your bathroom preserves its refined appearance for as long as possible.

Starting from the left, Alana has paired his and her bowls with the Phoenix Vivid Slimline Oval Basin Mixer. The Vivid series makes another bold appearance alongside her bathtub; this time, it’s the Vivid Slimline Oval Floor Mounted Bath Mixer. Their solid brass construction makes the already distinctive finish appear even stronger.

Of course, we can’t neglect the Round Showerhead (its arm) and Oval Shower Mixer, also part of the Vivid range. The Bakara Round Handshower by Collis features 3-spray settings, rendering this shower more than just a visual statement -- but an utterly immersive experience.

Freestanding Features

Nothing says modern quite like the integration of a freestanding bath tub and neighbouring spout. The Bahama White Stone Bath lives up to its name with an alluring asymmetrical design (call Bathware Direct to purchase). A freestanding bath guarantees enhanced freedom with your layout, ensuring your tub is a dominant feature no matter where it's placed. In a Matte White finish, the Bahama tub creates a perfect level of contrast against this Matte Black bath mixer.

Space-Saving Solutions

Freestanding features are valuable, but it pays not to overdo it. Alana has cleverly integrated wall-hung features in order to conserve space in her bathroom. Not pictured, but worth noting, is her Caroma Urban Wall Faced Toilet Suite. This, as well as her Opulence Slim 1500mm Hung Vanity are clever selections for showing off your tiles and the spaciousness of your room.

A wall-hung vanity tends to allow for less storage space -- but Alana is three steps ahead. She’s opted for the Timberline Denver Mirrored Shaving Cabinet: an additional storage solution, that adds brightness and visual interest to the room.

Uniting Alana’s black and white design is the Thermorail Black Heated Towel Rail. This is positioned at a perfect height for vacating the Bahama tub. Placing your rail at shoulder height is convenient, and relieves too much clutter from the lower section of your bathroom.

Honestly, we could go on forever, but we’d rather get started on our own dream bathroom. We think it’s time you did the same!
