How to design a relaxing bathroom with square fittings

Square bathroom fittings have been popular in Australian bathrooms for years and they are showing no signs of slowing. The hard edges of square pieces can take a bit of the tranquility out of bathroom design, though, so we have taken a look at a bathroom selection that includes the popular square designs whilst maintaining some softer touches to provide that relaxing atmosphere that is so important in a bathroom.

The Opulence Vanity is sleek in style and perfectly complements square fittings, like the Sole Basin Mixer. The ‘Just Breathe’ candle is a gorgeous little addition to style the space and acts as a (sometimes much needed!) reminder to take some time away from the stresses of life and…just breathe. The taupe coloured dressing gown also provides a gentle touch to the styling.

Depending on the climate the towel rails can either be heated or non-heated. The Tranquillity 850mm Towel Bars are heated and supplied as single bars but the ladder look can be achieved with multiple bars as shown. The same look can be achieved with the Series 64 single towel rails as a non-heated option.

Toilet suites may not be a particularly glamorous item that you want to put much thought into but every home needs one so we have selected the Caroma Cube Wall Faced Invisi Toilet and Rectangular Button for this bathroom. It fits the ‘angular’ design brief but isn’t harsh with the soft square lines.

The showerheads can be simple overhead showers with Sole Shower Mixers to match the basin mixer selection. A classic chrome shower channel would be best suited to this space with large format brown stone tiles and 60x30mm white wall tiles. This bathroom features horizontal tiles as it is a large space but for a low ceilinged bathroom lay the tiles vertically to create the illusion of height.
